This Mexican Dish went Viral on TikTok. Is Originally Made with beef. The Sauce is Naturally Plant based made with Hot Peppers. So I decided to Make this Dish Vegan. I Substitute The Meat for Oyster Mushrooms. Oyster Mushrooms Are a Great texture to Imitate beef or Chicken. I infused the Oyster Mushrooms with This Amazing Sauce while sautéing in A Cast Iron.                  Vegan Birria Tacos w/ Consume


                                   Ingredients


  • 1lb Oyster Mushrooms

  • 2 Tbsp Avocado Oil

  • 1 Tsp Pink Himalayan Salt

  • 1 Tsp Black Pepper

  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/4 Tsp White Pepper

  • 1 Tsp Onion Power

  • 1/2 Tsp Paprika

  • 1/4 Tsp Cumin

  • 1 Tsp Oregano

  • 3 Tbsp Chile Sauce

  • Diced Red Onions

  • Fresh Cilantro

  • Nondairy Parmesan Cheese (brand Follow Your Heart)

  • Sprout Whole Grain Wraps (brand Angelic)

Consume Hot Pepper Sauce Recipe


  • 3 to 6 Dried Chile Arbol (for heat)

  • 6 Dried Chile Guajillo

  • 3 to 4 Dried Chile Ancho

  • 1/2 Red Onion

  • 1 Head of Garlic

  • 2 Bay Leaf

  • 2-3 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 2 San Marzano Tomatoes

  • 1 Tsp Thyme

  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

  • 1 Tsp Oregano

  • 1 Tsp Smoked Paprika

  • 1/4 Tsp Cumin

  • 1/2 Black Pepper

  • 1 Tsp Pink Himalayan Salt or to Taste

  • 2 1/2 Cups Vegetable Broth


          

Follow Directions Step by Step

  1.  Remove Seeds from All Dried Chile/Hot Pepper.

  2. To a Pressure Cooker Add All Dried Chile, Red Onion, Garlic, Tomatoes, Bayleaf, Olive Oil, Vegetable Broth, Seasoning Pressure cook it for 20 Minutes.

  3. Cut Oyster Mushrooms in Strips and Sautee in a Pan with Avocado Oil for 10 Minutes.

  4. Now Season Oyster Mushrooms with Pink Salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, Oregano cook for another 10 Minutes stir in between Time.

  5. In a Blender Blend the cooked Chile, red onion, bay leaf, tomatoes and garlic with a little of the broth until smooth. Then Mix with the Rest of the broth.

  6. Keep Sautéing Oyster Mushrooms Add Consume/Hot Pepper sauce with Mushrooms cook for Addition 10 Minutes.

  7. To a Flat Sheet Pan lay Aluminum Foil. Lay Cook Oyster Mushrooms Flat.

  8. Pre Heat Oven At 350 Degrees

  9. Add Cook Mushrooms To Oven for Addition Time to cook and dry out to Remove Moisture. Cook to desire Texture.

  10. Dip Whole Grain Wrap to Sauce then Pan.

  11. Add cooked Mushrooms, Parmesan Cheese, diced red onions, Cilantro.

  12. Fold Wrap and Cook to Toasted

  13. Ganish with diced Red Onion and Cilantro

  14. (Optional) Serve with a Side of Red Radish and Lime.
